چکیده

Non-staggered triangular grids have many advantages in performing river or ocean modeling with the finite-volume method. However, horizontal divergence errors may occur, especially large-scale hydrostatic calculations centrifugal acceleration. This paper proposes an unstructured method a filtered scheme to mitigate noise and avoid further influencing velocities water elevation. In pressure calculations, we apply proposed three-dimensional curved channel flows. Approximations reduce numerical after filtering operator, approximation is second-order accurate. Numerical results for flow accurately calculate velocity profile surface elevation at different Froude numbers. Moreover, secondary features such as vortex pattern its movement along sections are also well captured.

Three-Dimensional Adaptive Central Schemes on Unstructured Staggered Grids

We present a new formulation of three-dimensional central finite volume methods on unstructured staggered grids for solving systems of hyperbolic equations. Based on the Lax-Friedrichs and Nessyahu-Tadmor one-dimensional central finite difference schemes, the numerical methods we propose involve a staggered grids in order to avoid solving Riemann problems at cell interfaces. The cells are baryc...

Staggered grids discretization in three-dimensional Darcy convection

We consider three-dimensional convection of an incompressible fluid saturated in a parallelepiped with a porous medium. A mimetic finite-difference scheme for the Darcy convection problem in the primitive variables is developed. It consists of staggered nonuniform grids with five types of nodes, differencing and averaging operators on a two-nodes stencil. The nonlinear terms are approximated us...

non-hydrostatic, three-dimensional Boussinesq equations

We study the three-dimensional, incompressible, non-hydrostatic Boussinesq fluid equations, which are applicable to the dynamics of the oceans and atmosphere. These equations describe the interplay between velocity shear and buoyancy gradients in a rotating frame, which are represented in a hierarchy of dynamical variables Ωm(t) for 1 ≤ m < ∞, identified as the sum of the L-norms of these varia...
